Animal Emergency Management Program  

The Colorado Veterinary Medical Foundation has made great strides in helping our state become better prepared to deal with animal issues in disasters through the CVMF Animal Emergency Management Program (AEMP). The program provides:

1. Unit coordination for Colorado Veterinary Medical Reserve Corps(CO VMRC) whose credentialed members are available to support local animal emergency response efforts, animal disease outbreaks and planned events with veterinary medical services, sheltering, animal evacuation and search and rescue.

2. Support of Community Animal Response Team (CART) development through the provision of technical assistance, resource development and training.

3. Support of ESF # 6 (Mass Care) at the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC).
