Volunteer

Volunteers make all the difference!

It is hard to resist the heartwarming look from an animal in need.

Volunteers play a vital role in the day-to-day workings of CVMF. They help post-surgical medical care, educate clients, perform administrative functions, and much, much more.

In donating your time, you will learn about the tools to medically care for our furry friends in need while also making a difference in the lives of their owners!

Volunteers must be at least 17 years old and able to make a commitment of approximately 3 - 5 hours per week.

CVMF Board Renames Volunteer of the Year Award
It was with great pleasure that on February 2, 2009, the CVMF board of directors approved the renaming of CVMF’s volunteer of the year award to the “Jim Crafts Volunteer of the Year Award.”

Named in memory of Harrison Memorial Animal Hospital volunteer, Jim Crafts, the Volunteer of the Year recognizes the outstanding contributions that volunteers make to enhance the animal welfare community.

Jim Crafts Volunteer of the Year Past Award Recipients:
2009 Patty Demkovich, Jackie Ferguson, and Karen Wojdyla
This year the Jim Crafts Volunteer of the Year award went to a trio of sisters, Karen Wojdyla, Jackie Ferguson, and Patty Demkovich. These three sisters do an outstanding job of making volunteering a “family affair”. They know that getting involved as volunteers for Harrison Memorial is one of the best decisions they’ve made not only for themselves but for Harrison Memorial. While being a Harrison volunteer can involve a lot of work, the sisters will tell you that it is also fun, interesting, and extremely rewarding. Jackie, Patty, and Karen have taken the initiative to not only dedicate themselves to the needs of Harrison Memorial but to ALL of CVMF’s programs. Whether it is by helping with a 10,000-piece mailing for Colorado’s Animal Heroes over the weekend, educating the public about CVMF at community fairs, or volunteering for Spay Day, these three sisters truly embody the spirit of the Jim Crafts Volunteer of the Year award.
